JCHS band members Ben Rader, Jaxon Turner, Cameron Combs, and Kaeleigh Kidwell were selected for the 2025 EKU High School Honors Band. Students participated in rehearsals and classes with EKU school of music faculty culminating in a final concert on Saturday, February 22nd at the EKU Center for the Arts.
There will be school in Jackson County, Monday, February 24, 2025. There will be changes to the following bus routes:
Bus 202 - Elisha Branch Rd. will meet at HWY 421
Bus 215 - Happy Top Rd. will meet at HWY 2004
Bus 218 - Taylor Banks Rd. will meet at HWY 421
Bus 236 - Steel Lane will meet at HWY 421

Congratulations to all of our elementary schools on their acheivements!
Today was a great day for Jackson County Public Schools. I am so proud of our students that participated and competed today from McKee, Sand Gap and Tyner. I am thankful for all the hard work that our coaches devote to their students. It was great to see all the parents, grandparents, teachers and principals, together in one school celebrating our kids. A special thank you goes out to Sand Gap Elementary for hosting such a wonderful day.
All buses will be back to normal tomorrow, Thursday, January 30, 2025, except Bus 235, it still can't get to Rocky Branch. I want to thank everyone for being so patient and understanding during this time.

REMINDER
Today, January 17 by 5:00, is the last day to nominate a community/business leader from the county to serve on the District Planning Committee that will develop the next facilities plan for Jackson County Public Schools due June 2025.
Since I mistakenly left out a dot in my email address (which is now corrected), I wanted to provide a list of nominees that have been received as of today at 12:30. If you want to nominate someone that is not listed or if you turned in a nomination that is not listed, please resubmit. You may drop it off at the Board of Education or you can email it to barbara.masters@jackson.kyschools.us by 5:00 today. Comments have been turned off on this post so that remarks cannot be made about the nominees. That is not the purpose of this post. Sorry for any confusion.
