Monday, February 9, 2026 was originally on Jackson County Schools' calendar as a flex day for staff. It was approved to be used as an instructional day for students at our last board meeting. So, if school is back in session, Monday, February 9, 2026 will be an instructional day, in-person for students.

Jackson County Public Schools is thrilled to be able to provide a new programmable LED sign for Jackson County Middle School. A special thank you to Kendall Norris / Jackson County Bank and Keith Gabbard / PRTC for providing the funding that has made it possible. The sign is currently being manufactured and will be installed this spring.

Jackson County Administrators had the opportunity to enjoy the Elgin Winter Retreat in Tennessee. The presentation from Joe Sanfelippo was refreshing and inspiring. One of our own, Daniel Muncy, had the privilege to present a session on successful leadership.

Jackson County Schools are handing out bagged lunches today, Friday, January 30, 2026 at Jackson County Middle School. We have changed the time due to the current snow accumulation. Lunches can be picked up from 11:00-12:30.

Jackson County Schools will be providing a bagged breakfast and lunch for all students Thursday, January 29, 2026 and Friday, January 30, 2026. Pick-up will be at Jackson County Middle School from 12:00-1:30 both days.

Jackson County Schools will be serving bagged lunches today, Wednesday, January 28, 2026 for all students enrolled in our schools. We will be at Jackson County Middle School from 1:00 - 2:30 today in the cafeteria. Please come inside and pick up a bagged lunch ready to be taken home.

Tonight’s Elementary League competition was a fantastic showcase of the INCREDIBLE academic talent across Jackson County!

A huge thank you to Mr. Josh Bowling for his hard work and dedication in planning and organizing this event.

This marks the first time in several years that our elementary schools have participated in a regular-season league, and we couldn’t be more proud of the TERRIFIC representation from all three of our elementary schools!

We are so grateful to the parents and families who came out to cheer on and support our students—your presence made the night even more special.

A final thank you to Mr. Vaughn for graciously allowing the middle school to host this season’s events.

The future is bright for our academic teams in Jackson County! 🌟📚
