Parent/Guardian Letter Concerning Retention/Promotion

JACKSON COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Central Office Administration Building
3331 Highway 421 S
McKee, Kentucky 40447

January 5, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians:

The Jackson County Public School District encourages you to have your child engaged every school day in the learning options that are offered, whether it be virtual instruction or traditional in-person instruction. Consistent and active participation will help your child to stay on target for the end-of-year mastery of standards and completion of classes that are necessary for your child’s progression to the next grade level.

A decision concerning your child’s placement for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year will be made by a committee of teachers and school-level administrators, prior to the end of this school year. This decision will be based on the data available which will include: student participation, diagnostic results, completing lessons in a timely manner, mastery of class assignments, and other education related criteria.
